Authority sites
December 31st, 2009 by adminThe search engines use many ways to decide how to rank sites in the results when someone types a word into the search box. They analyse the content of a page and the number of links to a page. The more links there are to a page, then generally the higher that page ranks in the search results. The total number of links is not always the determining factor. The search engines look at the quality of the page that the links are coming from. Links from what are called authority sites carry more weight, so links from these sorts of sites are more likely to help a sites ranking.
