What is a MASS foot orthotics
December 30th, 2009 by adminA newly concept that has being introduced by a podiatrists and foot orthotic lab owner is the MASS foot orthotics, Dr Ed Glaser DPM. MASS stands for greatest arch subtalar supination and is a position of the foot that turns the foot outwards at the ankle (supinates the foot). According to MASS theory and provided by Sole Supports Inc the aim of the foot orthotics is to hold the foot in this position. A foam casting box is used to get this position. The patient is place in a sitting position and then there foot is pushed into the foam with the rearfoot supinated and the medial side of the forefoot on the ground.
