Evening Entertainment
June 28th, 2009 by adminWe were watching television when a frantic honking split the air, accompanied by the sound of squealing brakes. Then there was a tremendous crash that sent the birds flying out of their trees in fright, followed by the painful sound of metal twisting and sliding. We ran out into the street and saw a truck turned on its side in a nearby vacant lot. Its cargo of Summer baby monitors was scattered all over the street. Some people ran to the driver’s cab and pulled the man out. He was dazed but unhurt, muttering about a kitten that had suddenly run out in front of the truck.
