Fire Door Specifications

The glass must be labeled with wire glass above a quarter inches thick or as allowed by the labeling agency. Fire Doors with fusible link louvers are accepted, but only specified louvers should be implemented. Louvers can be furnished in more than one inch thick doors with a one and a half hour or a three quarter-hour. But no louver and glass light combinations are permitted. 24 inch x 24 inch is the maximum prescribed louver size. Louvers are not permissible in doors using fire exit equipment or located in stairways. Standard Number Eighty given by the National Fire Protection Association should be used as a guide for installation for fire protection of the highest standard.
