The History of Mormon Women
January 14th, 2010 by adminPeople make the assumption that women in Mormon history were oppressed due to polygamy and not having the priesthood. The interesting thing I learned (not that I’m a fan of polygamy) is that the women were given the opportunity to go to school with the help of the other wives. They became doctors and midwives. Utah I heard was one of the first states to allow women to vote. I also heard that women were initially given the priesthood. I don’t really care who holds the priesthood as long as I get to benefit from its blessings. I’m grateful to be yet another woman in mormon history.
