Aunt Biddy’s Beauty Parlor
March 25th, 2009 by adminIn 1950 my Aunt Biddy opened the very first beauty salon in our small town. For forty years she served as official friend, beauty advisor, information provider, and, oh yes, hair stylist. When she was ready to retire ten years ago, she sold the shop to me. I was thrilled until I realized she hadn’t updated one thing since the shop opened. I painted, decorated, cleaned and polished. Then I bought new Wholesale Shampoo Chairs, the only thing I could afford to update. Since I’d inherited Biddy’s customers, and a good bit of the gossip she knew, the shop was soon humming. Eventually I updated everything. The atmosphere I kept.
