Parts of the movie were also filmed in Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, and other United States areas. Director Christopher Nolan derived at his idea from The Long Halloween, which featured the initial and second emergence of The Joker. An IMAX camera was used for the shooting of particular scenes. Nolan preferred shooting with the IMAX camera for the showing of The Dark Knight in IMAX theaters. An image maximum camera is larger and works well on huge screens such as in theaters. Several different buildings and locations within the city of Chicago were used, including the Richard J. Daley Center as Bruce Wayne’s headquarters.
