Solving the Constipation Riddle

January 11th, 2009 by admin

Many of us that deal with constapation are not really sure what is causing the problem in the first place. We tend to take over-the-counter medications in order to solve the problem but that may not be doing the trick on a permanent basis. In order to overcome constipation, we really need to hydrate our bodies to the extent where it is not looking for water in odd places. Believe it or not, the body will actually squeeze water out of the material that is traveling through our intestines. Hydrate yourself and you will see the problem go away.

Lung Cancer Indicators

January 9th, 2009 by admin

The history of lung cancer has witnessed that there are no prominent signs in the early stages of lung cancer. This is a pity because this form of cancer is curable if diagnosed in the early stages. The lung cancer symptoms set it eventually when the cancer develops to a certain stage. Some of the most common symptoms are fever, chest pain, spitting blood when coughing, and other respiratory discomforts. The best way to prevent this is to be vigilant. Generally people who are over the age of 45 years are at more risk of getting lung cancer. People who are over 45 and smoke habitually should go in for regular check-ups so that lung cancer can be detected at the very first instance itself.

October 15th, 2008 by admin

The incidence of emedicine mesothelioma in New Caledonia was compared with five reference cancer registers that were representative of (a) different levels of industrialization; (b) the Anglo-Saxon and French lifestyles; and (c) various regions of the world, including the Pacific. Standardized Incidence Ratios (SIRs) were calculated by indirect standardization and were based on the age structure of the population. Esophageal Sphincter Muscle

October 1st, 2008 by admin

Acid reflux disease is a product of the failure of the esophageal sphincter to function properly. Because of abnormal acid production, digestive processes are affected and causes burning sensations in the stomach, chest and even up to the esophagus. Too low acid production causes the valve in the stomach not to open. So the tendency of the stomach acids is to rise up and inflame the esophagus. On the other hand, too much acid production follows the same case.

There are many factors that can be deemed responsible for acid reflux disease. One of which is the use of too much salt. Aside from alcohol, caffeine and smoking which all add to the risk of acid reflux, salt is unexpectedly concluded to cause and aggravate the disease.

This finding is in accordance to the studies of researchers from Sweden. They found out from the lifestyle of their samplings that extra table salt increases the risk of having acid reflux disease up to 70%. This is alarming because it is implied that extra table salt can harm more that alcohol and caffeine. A related study conducted by Dr. Roshini Rajapaksa of New York University Medical Center attested the same results on the risks of too much table salt.

What kind of ingredients are in Jarrow Prostate Optimizer

August 16th, 2008 by admin

Lycopene is a potent antioxidant carotenoid that concentrates in prostate tissue. Saw Palmetto Berry Extract is standardized to 85-95% fatty acids and includes sterols such as B-sitosterol, lupeol, campesterol, cycloartenol, farnesol and phytol. Lycopene is an anti-oxidant that is beneficial throughout the body, particularly on the prostate. Testosterone or dihydrotestosterone (DHT), in combination with estradiol (E2) has been implicated for contributing to the uncontrolled division of prostate cells that that result in BPH . The enzyme 5 alpha-reductase is responsible for converting testosterone to DHT, where testosterone is at its peak during adolescence. The decline in testosterone production calls into play the compensatory release of other hormones that are stimulants to testosterone production.

Copper Roof Shingles In Europe

August 16th, 2008 by admin

Over the Fourth of July holiday, my husband and I visited my mother in North East, PA. They have a small branch campus of Mercyhurst College there that is absolutely gorgeous. I couldn’t believe I hadn’t ever been on the campus before. It has beautiful architecture and many of the buildings have the copper roof shingles that are so popular in Europe. The way the copper turns green as it is weathered is a unique feature that is seen all throughout Europe. It made my husband and I reminisce about our two trips to Europe that we took about 10 years ago. I would go back just to see the buildings if I could.
