I love my basement

July 15th, 2008 by admin

I have a really big basement in my house and one of the things that I did last year that really improved it was to refurbish the whole area. As part of this I fitted some new basement flooring, and it really has brought the room to life and now the whole family loves to spend time down there. I just wish that I had done the refurbishment a lot earlier and then I could’ve turned the place into somewhere where we could all spend time.

The way to go

July 13th, 2008 by admin

Just a few months ago I decided that I would refurbish my bathroom and as part of this I also decided that I would fit a new bathtub. I was a little lost as to which one would be the best for me but after talking to a friend I decided to that a Japanese soaking tub was probably the best bet. There really is something nice about the Japanese style and I now will never get any other type of bathtub for as long as I live. All my friends are now looking to fit one of these in their rooms too which really says something.

Solar Powered Heat

July 6th, 2008 by admin

It used to be that solar powered heat wasn’t all that cost effective, but that’s no longer the case. Nowadays, the cost of solar panels have gone down to the point that solar powered heat can be a great investment,
Solar Heating Panels are great for homeowners that want to save money on energy in the long run, and are concerned about the environment as well.
Do your homework, though, and be sure you intend to stay in your home long enough to recoup your investment.

I’ve been reading up on

I’m thinking a geothermal climate control system would be a fine investment, as would shares in the company.

French patio doors to brighten up a room

June 16th, 2008 by admin

The room at the back of our home leads to the patio which overlooks a lovely rose-garden tended lovingly by my husband. The room always used to look dark because of the small door which led to the patio. I also used to feel that it was a pity that we could never sit back inside and enjoy the roses if the weather happened to be inclement. After visiting a friend’s home, we too decided upon some major renovation work and the installation of French Patio Doors was top priority. The installation is now complete and we can finally enjoy our roses from the inside room as the large expanse of glass offers a totally unobstructed view. We get sunlight streaming in the room making the room brighter and altogether a much more cheerful place to sit with a book and a cup of coffee.

Acupuncture is indeed one of the most popular alternative treatments available today. The technique is used to treat a wide range of ailments of the human body. This ancient Chinese technique has been found to have positive effect on shingles.

There are acupuncture therapies which help in the treatment of herpes zoster. Since shingles occur in older people it is often a result of the weak immune cedar shingles white system and Chinese medications or treatments are based on excess or deficiency of certain things in the body. Kitchen renovation idea

June 11th, 2008 by admin

A nice kitchen renovation idea is to create beautiful murals for a unique kitchen wall style. The kitchen is one of the more beloved rooms in any house and one where nearly every family spends a majority of its time. Creating beautiful interiors has a lot more to do with creativity than it does money. The whole point is to create a space that makes you feel good and one in which your family enjoys spending time.

Granite Tile Countertops: The Obvious Choice For Your Home

May 12th, 2008 by admin

Granite tile countertops are very hard so it only makes sense to choose it for your new kitchen project. Many kitchen designers and home owners love to use natural granite.

Even with its extreme durability you will want to take steps to care for it. One of the first things you will need to do is apply a good quality sealant to the surface. Sealing the surface will protect it from moisture and abrasion. Most companies suggest sealing it once a year.

Other steps you will take are just good common sense. You should wipe up spills immediately, especially from the grout. This will prevent stains for occurring. Also clean up dirt or grit from the surface as these can cause scratches.
