Dogs really are considered a part of the family and we try to include them in many of our activities. This means that we have accumulated a great deal of dog stuff through the years. It is amazing the amount of advertising there is that gets directed towards dog owners and pet owners in general. The marketers know that people love their pets and are willing to spend a great deal of money on them. It seems that each holiday season there is more and more dog stuff in the stores.
This past winter season I could not believe my eyes when I was in the accessory section of a national department store. At first I thought there was a new section of doll clothing that was placed in this section. Upon closer examination I realized that the clothes were for dogs. Along with the clothes there were beds, toys, designer dishes and other dog stuff. This is a store that does not ordinarily have a pet section. I asked one of the sales clerks when this section of dog stuff had been added.
She stated that it was part of their holiday campaign nationwide. It seems that people were requesting more items that they could purchase, not only for their dog, but for the dogs of their friends. I jokingly asked if this did not snub cat owners, but I was told that the cat merchandise was on the opposite side of the display I was looking at.
The dog stuff included very elaborate outfits for the holidays. Velvet dresses, satin off the shoulder cocktail dresses, and the more traditional knit sweaters. There were also collars that were studded with sequins and stones. I could tell that the sales clerk was not thrilled with this new merchandise. I commented that our female dog would certainly prefer precious stones.
When I said this she lead me over to the fine jewelry counter and showed me a display of precious and semi precious collars. I could not believe what I was seeing. I knew that there were specialty stores and catalogs that handled this kind of dog stuff, but I never thought that it would be featured in a national department store. The clerk mentioned that they had a large display of Halloween costumes in the fall along with special treats for the four legged trick or treater’s.
I came home and told my husband about the display of small dog clothes and dog sit stay paraphernalia. He commented that we might be recipients of some of the items, because our family members and friends know that we pamper our dogs. I told him that if we did get something I hoped it would be the 14 carat gold collar with the pearl pendant.

Worms like damp areas, moisture is one of the easiest components of composting. If you are able to add the moisture (which you should be able to), you only have to wait and see until the works perform their work to help you have more fertilized soil. Worm composting is available everywhere and are easy to find in some areas you need not look very hard at all. All you have to do is find a jar which may be harder to find than the worms themselves and watch closely while walking in the garden since they will be happy to be in an enclosed place rich with food.

The options we face when buying a grill are quite different than what our parents dealt with. Gas, electric, infrared, and portable just to name the basics. Personally I have used a charcoal grill since I was a child. These smoky, simplified wonders are hard to let go of. While some friends tell me gas is all the rage these days, and the coal isn’t as healthy as we once thought, I still can’t abandon the taste. Anyone who has grilled on gas and charcoal can tell you that there’s a difference. When it comes to charcoal, the flavor is phenomenal.

There are so many different styles of home aquariums to choose from these days that you may find it difficult to choose when you want to set up a fish tank. Your best course of action is going to be research. When choosing the right home aquarium you will want to take into account the type of fish that you intend to put in it. Some tropical fish may have certain needs that will require a bigger tank whereas a beta requires not much room at all. You will also want to find out the differences in care each size requires. In many cases you will find larger tanks require less work.

There are various reasons for people having dogs in their house. Some will keep it for security purposes. It will alert its master, when some stranger enters the house. What does training a dog involve? Many things indeed! In the police department training a dog is to help in their investigative activities. The strength of the dog here is its sense of smell. Training A Dog also requires persistence and patience on the part of the trainer. He has to wait till he gets results from his training very patiently.

My dog is very old and is suffering from dog arthritis. We helplessly watched him suffer in pain. We realized he was constantly looking for a comfortable position to sit or lie down. We took out all the old sheets and soft pillows and made a special bed for him using foam and cushions. He is a little more comfortable now. However I think if I purchase one of those new fangled dog arthritis beds he will even be more at ease.
