MCAT scoring explanation

August 6th, 2009 by admin

I am looking into going to medical school and recently checked into the MCAT scoring system.  What I found out is that the test is scored in four sections including: Biological Sciences, Physical Sciences, Verbal Reasoning, and Writing.  Depending upon the school you are trying to get into there is a minimum score that they look for while selecting candidates.  Most schools seem to use a combination of all the sections but writing and then a certain level on the writing.  It is recommended that you find out what type of score a desired school is looking for prior to taking the test.

Medical School Rankings: Helping Personalize a Medical Career

August 1st, 2009 by admin

The choice to become a doctor means a commitment to years of study, intense personal involvement, and a huge expense. Students often choose a specific field of medicine and this usually determines their choice of college and medical school.  While factors such as location and the general teaching atmosphere are factors in choosing a medical school, medical school rankings are some the most important keys to selection.  The rankings, which usually divide schools into primary care and research, also rank them by specialty.  A school’s reputation can influence a student’s chances of getting their preferred residency, and some schools simply enjoy a prestigious history.

Our oldest has always been a little different that the average in whatever he attempted or pursued.  Rather than roller skates, he was building go carts, jai lai instead of baseball.  Well, you get the picture. So when he sent us a letter telling us he wanted to pursuean education in Sp Jain Emba, I was afraid he had suffered a stroke.  But instead of calling long distance for the paramedics, I first went online and discovered it was in fact an mba program designed to train students in the new global economy.  And he would be able to study in Dubai as well as Singapore . Doctoral Studies and Its Common Usage

November 17th, 2008 by admin

It seems that almost everybody who is really interested in higher education has considered staying within the university long enough in order to receive their doctorate. You might be surprised to learn, however, that very few people followed up on these doctoral studies until the early part of the 20th century. Although there were some individuals who had the name of Dr. attached to their name during that time, it was very rare for somebody to be able to stay in college for that many years. Now, people have their doctorate in all fields of study and it is not unusual at all.

bachelors mechanical engineering

October 8th, 2008 by admin

At some stage you would have no doubt driven a car, rode in a train or taken a flight on a plane. Trains, cars and planes are all products of mechanical engineers. One thing that they all have in common is that they were more than likely built by people with a bachelors mechanical engineering degree. We often think of a Bachelors Mechanical Engineering degree in terms of training people to work under a car hood. That, however, is a very narrow view of a Bachelors Mechanical Engineering degree and the people that earn them.

Interior design is simply about designing the spaces in which people work and live. A student upon having completed an interior design bachelor degree will know how to apply artistic principles and techniques to the planning, designing, equipping and furnishing of commercial and residential interior spaces. An interior design bachelor degree course will include instruction on the principles of interior lighting, acoustics, systems integration and color co-ordination; basic structural design; building codes and inspection regulations; computer drafting and graphic techniques; furniture and furnishings and the history of interior design and period styles.

Kids Science Projects

September 14th, 2008 by admin

As a matter of fact, with all of the elementary science fair projects that I did as a kid, I used to think that I would be a scientist when I grew up. My interests ended up taking me in a much different direction later in life, but I still have kept up with the main discoveries in the sciences. I love to go to science expositions and fairs, read Scientific American, and experiment with electronic circuits in my basement.
