I am looking into going to medical school and recently checked into the MCAT scoring system.  What I found out is that the test is scored in four sections including: Biological Sciences, Physical Sciences, Verbal Reasoning, and Writing.  Depending upon the school you are trying to get into there is a minimum score that they look for while selecting candidates.  Most schools seem to use a combination of all the sections but writing and then a certain level on the writing.  It is recommended that you find out what type of score a desired school is looking for prior to taking the test.

The choice to become a doctor means a commitment to years of study, intense personal involvement, and a huge expense. I’ve been poking around all over the Internet looking into Taking the GED Test Online. If found some good resources. Looks like it might be worth checking into further.
I’d hate to spend my life working menial jobs and never getting ahead. I think a GED might be my ticket out.
