The government’s role in long term care funding

March 28th, 2008 by admin

The government needs to strengthen their  long term care funding  commitment in this legislation and then act on this commitment in the upcoming budget to increase funding to provide more staff so that residents can get the care they deserve in relation to their physical, medical, psychological and social needs. Some residents have no family and others have family who just dropped them off and might come by once a year or so. Everyone agrees that the present long term care funding level is simply not acceptable. The government, keeping its responsibility in mind should fund homes to provide at least three hours of resident care per resident per day.
