You are entitled to an annual free credit report from each of the three credit reporting agencies.  This is under federal mandate from the Fair Credit Reporting Act.  You can get an annual free credit report directly from each of the agencies or you can obtain one from one of the many websites that can get you all three credit reports easily and, in some cases, instantly.  This sometimes costs a small fee, but it is well worth it in order to obtain your annual free credit report from all three agencies as some may report things differently than others.  You also need to make sure that any reporting of your credit history is accurate as it is looked at not only by lenders, but also by employers in some cases.  You never want to have erroneous information on your credit reports.
