Simple Workout with Sciatica

I been dealing with chronic sciatica for years and found treatments sometimes worked, but I was looking for exercises I could do to help loosen my joints and help ease pain from this disorder.  I ask my doctor what type of exercises I could do.  He said to working out with sciatica I could start out with some toning exercises and he even recommended a workout video I could try.  He did let me know that inactivity would make works and prolongs the condition.  He said it was curable and  and sometimes can go away on its own.  This is my true desire to be pain free without being medicated with a lot of medicine.
