Medical School Rankings: Helping Personalize a Medical Career

The choice to become a doctor means a commitment to years of study, intense personal involvement, and a huge expense. Students often choose a specific field of medicine and this usually determines their choice of college and medical school.  While factors such as location and the general teaching atmosphere are factors in choosing a medical school, medical school rankings are some the most important keys to selection.  The rankings, which usually divide schools into primary care and research, also rank them by specialty.  A school’s reputation can influence a student’s chances of getting their preferred residency, and some schools simply enjoy a prestigious history.
